This week's Line is Drawn was my suggested theme of "Superfy a character who isn't a super hero." Someone suggested Leslie Knope, and since Parks and Recreation is one of my favourite shows on TV right now (not that we have a TV, I watch it on the internet two days after everyone else...) I picked it!

This is by far the most detailed ink wash I've done to date. I'm still learning, and I'm still dealing with old brushes that get a little unwieldy, so it's not great, but I'm learning! (I'm also dealing with a lack of patience, I think. Brush work is more mentally demanding than using micron fineliners.)

I didn't colour this one as it more often than not ruins the work, so I just sepia-toned it and laid on a watercolour paper scan for texture.

Great!

If I was doing a parks themed superher I probably would have made the Baconator-immune to foodborne bacteria and the effects of alcohol, with the ability to consume anything.

Then I realized that Ron Swanson as a superhero would look like Ron Swanson wearing a domino mask.

I know my likenesses leave much to be desired, so I tried for capturing Leslie's character - of pouring her heart into things sometimes a little overzealously.

Either that or the Feministor. Who's power is to empower all the woman she thinks needs power-ing
